Six Pillars Broward is a collective impact initiative with numerous business and community partners implementing a strategic plan to help guide Broward County toward a future economy that includes high-wage jobs, global competitiveness, and vibrant communities by the year 2030.
Broward County includes 31 municipalities with a population of more than 1.9 million residents.
In 2011, more than 350 Broward County business, civic, academic and government leaders, volunteers and community residents began developing a strategic visioning plan through the year 2030, using the Six Pillars framework of the Florida Chamber Foundation as a strategic planning tool. The plan was developed over the next year and launched in October 2012.
Today, Six Pillars Broward has counted with the participation of thousands of local business, academic, community, and public leaders. Our collective impact initiative serves as a platform that elevates our communities' priorities and collaboratively drives initiatives to create solutions.
In order to foster a workforce prepared to meet the needs of employers in the future, Broward County must have a skilled workforce that is well educated, with skills that match the needs of employers.
